After completing a tour of duty in the United States Navy, Joe McGroarty attended East Carolina University and received a BSBA degree with a concentration in Economics in 1972. In 1977, after five years in the motel and restaurant business, Joe entered the commercial real estate field, immediately entering the CCIM program and receiving this designation in 1984. In addition to being a founding partner of Keystone Commercial Realty, Joe works as a full-time agent, specializing in multi-family, hotel/motel sales, golf courses, and site selection.

Joseph L. Carter received his BA degree in History from the University of South Carolina. After completing a tour of duty in the United States Air Force, Joe entered the development field. His projects can be found along the East Coast from Hilton Head, South Carolina, to Atlantic Beach, North Carolina. Among these projects are 2,700 condominium units, a Grand Prix race track, and a Jack Nicklaus golf course. As a Keystone Commercial Realty partner, Joe's development experience, coupled with his concern for the South Carolina environment, brings a rare dimension to Keystone's commercial brokerage team.

B.W. 'Rusty' Helm, a founding partner of Keystone Commercial Realty, holds an MBA from the Ivey School of Business and the IBBA's CBI designation. Rusty has developed a broad-based practice offering knowledge and experience in every facet of commercial real estate, with a special focus on retail site selection and hotel brokerage and development. Rusty has built a reputation for structuring strategic transactions working in harmony with legal and tax council to maximize client objectives and goals.

Kal Kassel, after graduating from the Wharton School of Business in 1978, owned a manufacturing business in Southern China for nine years. He then owned and operated a retail business in Pawleys Island, South Carolina, until 1997. Kal has since been actively involved in commercial real estate, specializing in the the south end of the Grand Strand, including Surfside Beach, Garden City Beach, Murrells Inlet, Pawleys Island/Litchfield, and Georgetown markets of coastal South Carolina.

Originally from Charlotte, N.C., Gina Jones has called the Grand Strand home since 1994. Gina began her career in the financial services industry, working for First Union Charlotte, Carolina Trust Federal Credit Union, and Coastal Federal Bank. In 2000, after 9 years of banking, Gina decided to change her career course and gained valuable experience in both residential and commercial property management while working for a local entrepreneur. Gina joined Keystone in January 2005, and has been instrumental in the startup and success of Keystone's Commercial Property Management and Leasing Division. As a licensed Realtor, Gina handles all aspects of commercial leasing and management from eviction proceedings to landscaping bids. Her lively personality and persuasive negotiation skills have proven to be of great value to Keystone's clientele.

Michele Urbaniak attended both Francis Marion and Coastal Carolina Universities, and received a degree in Business. After 8 years in banking and marketing, in 1999 Michele joined Joe McGroarty, Joe Carter, and Rusty Helm in opening Keystone, the Grand Strand's first strictly-commercial real estate office. As the Office Administrator, Michele has assisted each Keystone agent on their listings in all aspects from research to marketing to legal documentation. After more than 6 years of invaluable hands-on training, Michele became a licensed Realtor in 2005, earning the highest test score in her class. Through Keystone, she has gained a vast knowledge of the inner-workings of commercial real estate along the Grand Strand, and has mastered property research, such as tax map and deed transfer records, zoning maps, traffic counts, and sales comparables. In addition to her research skills, Michele offers strong negotiation skills, a creative flair, and an eye for detail.
